Tubular (21 Days)

So we got a new breathing exercise today that makes us play LOUD. That thing is phenomenal... When (or if) you come see me this summer, be sure to have me show it to you! (ask about 'Timmy Tube')

Today went pretty well... We cleaned some drill and I think they may have even put a video up on YouTube from visual block today (YTV Run... Search for Crown 2008). Lemme know if you find it... I would love to see how bad/good it looks!

Off to bed... Im going to get some extra sleep tonight!

Cancellation

I was just informed that the June 20th performance at Carmel was cancelled since DCI moved their finals location... Sorry for the double mix-up...

Off to evening rehearsal...

Enter Sandman (22 Days)

So apparently someone thought it would be a great idea to put sand all around the fields that we rehearse on... Now, everytime that I have to roll around on the ground, I get sandburn! Its okay though because I am sore all over and one more sore spot doesnt make much difference...

Apparently the May 20th date on the calendar is an OnQ performance at Carmel High School... (which is about 5 miles from my house)... If you live in the Indianapolis area, be sure to check out http://OnQ.org for details...

Off to bed!

Shake, Rattle, and Roll! (23 Days)

Today was really fast... It seemed like every block just zoomed by! I got to learn some coreography today, and my hip flexor is very sore... Nothing that a bit of ibuprofen cant fix though!

Well... Its past curfew and im tired!

Wet Socks (24 Days)

If there is one thing that I hate in life... it is wet socks! Today was extremely rainy... We all got absolutely soaked during basics block and my shoes are still drenched... The staff was nice to us today and we didnt have to rehearse the whole day outside in the cold rain... Instead we went to a gymnasium and practiced some techniques. Also, during brass sectionals, we rehearsed under a park shelter while the rain poured down around us. It was crazy!

Well off to my well-deserved DRY bed!

Chocolate Rain (25 Days)

So I have pretty much had that song by Tay Zonday (chocolate rain) stuck in my head all day... It did actually rain on us today too! We were finishing our afternoon brass sectionals block when it started pouring on us! It was ridiculous!

We got a lot done today... Learned some new drill... Worked on cleaning some old drill... And we got to do a 'show and tell' as different horn sections by marching and playing a really difficult part of our show! The mellos were -definitely- the best!

Well off to bed... 7am comes early!

Drill and 1st Ensemble (26 Days)

WOW, what a day! I am definitely more sore today than I was yesterday... We got to re-learn some drill today that we had learned at our april camp. It was exausting! Also, we got to have full ensemble for the first time tonight! It was really awesome!

I got some munchies for after rehearsal and on the bus tonight... Im really excited to have on-demand food now :D ... My post rehearsal appetite is usually pretty intense...

I am really looking forward to this season... I think its going to be a great show!

Sleepy time...

Spring Training (27 Days)

Wow, today went by really fast! In the 3 seasons that I have marched corps, this was definitely the most productive first day of spring training that I have ever experienced! I made some new friends today and got to learn some new names...

Hopefully tomorrow will be as productive as today, both on and off of the field...

Done! (1 Day)

Welcome to all of the new visitors for today! I hope you all bookmark this link and continue to keep track of me tis summer!

I am completely done packing! Hooray! The only problem is going to be carrying everything on to the plane... im kind of nervous as to how much stuff they are going to allow me to take with me... if I didn't have a sleeping bag and a water jug, I would be fine...

Well... off to do a few more pre-tour stuff!

Ready, Set, PACK! (2 Days)

So I finally started packing today. I am completely unmotivated to get all this stuff done, but I know that it has to be done! I'm trying to eliminate potential stuff to bring... I can only check 2 bags with the airline... and my horn = 1.

If you notice on the right hand side of the screen, I have added a new feature to this blog! It will give an easy way to keep track of what I am doing this summer. Ill try to update it as often as I can with important information. It is based off of Twitter, so if you have that, you can follow me via there as well!

I got 2 extra camera batteries in the mail yesterday... so I should pretty much be set for the entire summer! I want to take as much video/pictures as I can this summer so that I can create a mass media archive for everyone to enjoy once the season is over. I did this in 2006 for my summer with the Madison Scouts (The Purple Fleur), but I never released it. Hopefully once I get home, I can release a new side of TPF (The Crown Fleur?) so that all may enjoy the media from '06 Scouts and '08 Crown! If you have any ideas, feel free to leave me a comment on this post.

Well... off to finish my grueling task... yay.

Quick'n Easy (3 Days)

Im totally tired from today, so I wont be leaving too much of an entry today...

My dad had his kyphoplasty today and all went well! They took care of T10-T12 and the radiologist said that there were no complications. Kyleigh came to visit me while my dad had his surgery today, that was very helpful. :)

I got all of the stuff that I needed from Wal-Mart too... now I just have to assemble everything into my tour bag and finish some last minute things...

Testing 1, 2, 3... (4 Days)

This is actually a test post from my mobile phone! This will be the way that I keep you all updated this summer!

I am still working on getting packed today... but I finished all of my paperwork today! My father's kyphoplasty was also moved to tomorrow... Please keep him in your prayers.

Well I am off to finish packing!

Housing Update (5 Days)

Carolina Crown, has just made plans to rehearse in Bloomington from June 13th - 20th. We will be living at, and will be doing the majority of our rehearsals at Binford Elementary School, with some night rehearsals at Bloomington HS South, and some other possible locations. If you're interested, you're of course welcome to stop by; we rehearse nearly the entire day. For more specific details, please just give me a call or text me, and I'll do my best.

Also, welcome to the first few visitors of my tour blog... I have left you some posts to read from the past few days that have been leading up to my final year marching drum corps! Feel free to leave me comments on any of the posts!

Moving Forward (7 Days)

Well... I finally sat down and looked at all of the forms and whatnot that I have to turn in before I leave on Saturday. Looks like I may have most of the stuff from 2006... but I will have to make some calls and ask about the rest. I just realized that I am really excited! I wasn't before (2006 especially)... but I defintely am now! I can't wait to finally get on the field and start getting less fat!

I have to finish doing some stuff... so im out of here...

Hmmm... (8 Days)

Well... 8 days left. 1 week from tomorrow, I will be heading down to South Carolina for Spring Training at Gardner Webb...

Im still kinda nervous, but I think that everything should be okay. I really hope that things go well with my dad this week too... I would feel much better about leaving if I knew that everything was going to be okay here.

I still have a few loose ends to tie up before I leave... still haven't packed... still haven't gotten my media ready for tour... have a few things to do around the house... want to return my D-Link DSM 320RD Media Server to Buy.com... but they are being sluggish about it so Im still waiting around :S

Hopefully I will stop being lazy and take care of that stuff soon! Till then...

Patrick

Yikes! (9 Days)

Holy crap! It is 9 days till the 24th and I still haven't even considered packing! I should really get on that...

I'm really looking forward to getting my butt kicked for one last time, but I feel like I am leaving a bad situation at home with my father's health. Hopefully he will have recovered enough this summer to come to a show! That would be awesome :)

Well... off to do pre-tour stuff...

Patrick
