New Drill (Mankato Pt. II)

Today we learned 26+ new pages of drill... We added in a new opener and percussion feature and marched a complete runthrough of the show by the end of the night. The music was the same(ish) but we hadnt played those songs in a show yet... We were just starting with the really loud Impact moment that is at the end of Candide.

It was really cool today because we rehearsed in the show stadium for the Mankato show at Minnesota State University... That stadium was where my first drum corps show took place.

At the end of the night, I got to watch a video of our run through... Its actually not that bad! It was really cool to see how everything lined up from above... We are going to clean the drill tomorrow... So hopefully we will come out even stronger in Dubuque!

Off to bed...
Later days,
Patrick

I just saw the video of the two Contras - excuse me, tuba players going down. Ouch,as a "tuba" brother that was hard to watch. Amazingly you could see the second one actually roll to try and protect his horn! Now that's a true contra player. The show looked good (bad video)Have a great summer, work hard, see you in Bloomington.
